The Ghost in the Shell season 1 is set in a near-future Japan where full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi leads the newly formed Public Security Section 9, an elite unit created to eliminate emerging threats before they strike. But when a series of cyberattacks points to the enigmatic hacker known as the Puppet Master, Kusanagi is drawn into a dangerous conspiracy that challenges everything she believes about identity, consciousness, and the future of mankind.
